Become a Certified Digital Educator

Get 6 Hours of Credit

Step 1

Successfully complete the Microsoft Teaching with Technology professional development course and pass the Microsoft Certified Educator exam.

Step 2

Apply to Lamar University. Submit an official transcript from the institution that granted your bachelor's degree.

Students who have obtained degrees from colleges or universities outside of the U.S. are required to submit an official report of course-by-course evaluated transcripts of all secondary and post-secondary work to Lamar University directly from the evaluating agency. To qualify for graduate credit, your degree must be equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university. *Students who obtained Bachelor's degrees from the UK and Canada may submit their official transcripts instead of an official evaluation for this credit only option. Please note that if you want to be enrolled at Lamar University as a graduate student, you will be required to submit an official evaluation, even if you attended school in the UK or Canada.

Receive 3 graduate credit hours for EDLD 5302 Concepts of Educational Technology.

Step 3

Demonstrate what you learned in Microsoft Teaching with Technology course to earn 3 more credit hours for EDLD 5303 Applying Educational Technology Portfolio. Submit a digital portfolio documenting your implementation of concepts of the Microsoft Teaching with Technology course with at least 3 technology-integrated lessons and receive a Lamar University Digital Educator Certificate

How much does it cost? 

$100 per credit hour plus a $100 portfolio evaluation fee. Total cost: $700 *
