Information About District-Wide Professional Development

At a time when many schools are embedding technology in the classroom, Lamar University and Microsoft are making the transition to a digital-age educator as rewarding as possible.

Microsoft provides the standards-based Teaching with Technology professional development at no cost. Teachers who pass a rigorous exam based on the Teaching with Technology curriculum are awarded the respected Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) professional credential.

Lamar University then extends the opportunity for teachers to gain up to six graduate credit hours. Graduate course credits are provided tuition-free with only a $100 per credit hour transcription fee. Discounts on transcription fees are available for district-wide implementations on a case-by-case basis.
